AOH CHURCH OF GOD

GOD'S ECONOMY

Gen 50:22-26 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years. 23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees. 24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. 26 So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

This is the final chapter in this great story. Joseph, the boy who was hated by his own brothers, because he had a dream about his destiny, who plotted to kill him; sold him into slavery to the Ishmaelites; sold to Potapher in Egypt by the Ishmaelites; thrown into prison by Potapher; forgotten about for two years; finally he is promoted from the pit to the palace only to become second in command to Pharaoh himself. He realized his dream; was reunited with his family; preserved all of Egypt and his family from the seven year famine; made Pharaoh a very, very rich man. His family was given Goshen, the richest fertile land in all of Egypt.

His father, Jacob, pronounced a special blessing upon his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, and also upon him. He buried his father like royalty as he requested. Joseph saw his dream come true and his brothers and all of his family enjoyed a prosperous life in Egypt. He lived to be one hundred and ten and was able to enjoy his grandchildren and great grand children.

Now we notice something very interesting here. He spoke prophetically over his family: 24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Again I can not over emphasize how important it is to hold on to your dream. If God has ever spoken over your life, hold on to that promise. It shall come to pass. Here we see Joseph on his dying bed, yet he reminds the family what God has promised. Never give up hope. This is what drives you. Remember Faith is the substance of things hoped for. If you lose hope, Faith has nothing to work with. Faith without works is dead. It is not enough to talk it, you have to walk it. You must put your faith into action.
